Day 1: Johannesburg to Kruger National Park. (Satara Rest Camp)
Today your 4 Day Kruger Safari begins! You will meet the Kruger transfer at O.R. Tambo International Airport in the morning and they will bring you to our hometown of Hoedspruit, a small town outside of Kruger. Here you will meet your guide and enjoy a light lunch, we will then take a slow game-drive to Satara camp. You will be staying at Satara for 2 nights in a Rondawel with 2 beds, en-suite bathroom, AC, fridge and a patio with table and chairs. The camp has a comprehensive shop, restaurant, laundry and swimming pool. Satara camp is situated in the grassland area of Kruger and offers extensive views across the Savanah, there is a waterhole just outside the camp fence and this is the perfect place to see animals come for a drink.
This afternoon we take you out for a short afternoon drive for a chance to spot some South African wildlife. When we return to camp we will prepare dinner before you depart on a Kruger night-drive. A Kruger ranger will take you out with a big spotlight looking for nocturnal life. Many of the cats are active at this time and you can see lions, leopards, serval, and civet in addition to hyena, porcupine, honey badger and much more.
Meals Included: Dinner
Day 2: Kruger National Park. (Satara Rest Camp)
On day 2 of the 4 Day Kruger Safari we will spend the whole day in the park. We head out and start to explore at sunrise, we will take you to areas with high levels of animal activity and we hope to show you something magical. Kruger National park is an amazing place where you will find all the animals you can think of in Africa. All the BIG 5 lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo are found in Kruger, which has more species of large mammals than any other African park. Giraffe, Zebras, Impala and Kudu are everywhere. There are huge crocodiles and hippos in the rivers and if we’re lucky we hope to find the shy Cheetah. The park has 147 mammal species, 517 birds and 114 different reptiles, so there are lots to see in 2 days and you will have a fantastic time spotting all the wildlife. We will take you to a picnic site where we will serve breakfast with a view. Once we have finished with breakfast we will slowly return to camp for some time to relax and enjoy the camp facilities.
We will then serve lunch at camp and then head out for an exciting afternoon drive. We will continue our search for Kruger wildlife and return to camp at sunset. Tonight we will be cooking everything on an open fire and you will enjoy dinner outside under the stars in our bush restaurant.
Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 3: Kruger National Park (Letaba Rest Camp)
This morning you have the option of going on a bush-walk with a Kruger ranger. An expert in the area will take you out looking for the animals on foot. You will learn about the bush, trees and animal-tracks. This is an excellent way to experience the bush. Alternatively we can do a 2 hour morning drive before we have breakfast in camp and check out.
We will then take a slow drive through the park towards, Letaba Rest Camp. Along the way we will drive through Mopani and Bushwillow woodlands, this is a good area to find huge elephants and old buffalo.
Letaba is one of our favourite camps in Kruger and is built on the banks of the Letaba River. Views of the river from the camp are fantastic and many hours can be spent gazing out over the vast sandy banks. At Letaba there is a Park Shop with souvenirs and gifts, a swimming pool, restaurant and The Great Elephant Hall, a museum dedicated to the biggest elephants in the history of Kruger National Park. We will be staying at Letaba camp for 1 night and you will be staying in traditional round thatched African huts called a Rondawel, inside there are 2 single beds, a ceiling fan, air conditioning, a private washroom with shower and toilet, a fridge and a small patio to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
This afternoon we will enjoy an exciting afternoon drive in the Letaba area.
Tonight we will prepare and enjoy a traditional South African dinner cooked over an open fire, then relax and delight in the sounds of the African bush.
